I have, for the past three years, woken up to find the i cannot move. It feel like someone is on top of me, and is holding me to my bed. Or i will wake up because my bed is shaking, its on the floor, and is slightly lifted. I don't know what these things are but i would like them to stop, In the last three year, i have not had a good nights sleep. even when I'm not at home.

Hi Willow, I'm not an expert but I think I may have a good idea of what your problem is .Bare with me I'll get back to you  tomorrow as I'm falling asleep at the mo, only had 3 hours sleep in the past 24 and can't get my brain in gear lol

Right I'm back, sounds to me like a classic case of sleep paralysis. Some thing I'm very familiar with as it happens to me!Tell me when this happens are you lying on your back? If so don't! I've not been able to allow myself to drop off on my back for years now, if I do god only knows what horror's I'll encounter. I've had everything from tarantula's crawling over me, to disembodied hands trying to strangle me, it's very, very real and very, very frightening and every time I can't move!The last time it happened I'd got so used to it I knew exactly what was going on, and some how managed to roll over on to my side and instantly it was gone and I was awake. I can't remember the exact scientific reasoning for it, it's something like your brain's waking up but your body's still asleep. If you google Sleep Paralysis I'm sure you'll find more info. It is possible it's not that, but as it happens where ever you are I think it probably is. As I say the best thing to stop it is to lie on your side, easy as that Smiley

I was going to say what Lu said. In fact, you may be very interested in this recent article http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2009/oct/02/sleep-paralysis

You can also setup a camcorder to record you while you sleep to see yourself going through it from a different perspective. If there's anything paranormal about it you can possibly pick it up on tape, but all in all it will help you better understand what happens to you just before and during.
